The overarching goal of Australia’s development program in Indonesia is to partner with Indonesia to boost inclusive growth and productive jobs by improving Indonesia’s competitiveness through strengthening the impact of Indonesia’s own resources. Three objectives will contribute to this goal:
- Effective economic institutions and infrastructure;
- Human development for a productive and healthy society; and
- An inclusive society through effective governance.
Improving economic institutions and infrastructure is essential to Indonesia’s ongoing development. Australia’s support is helping to address the underlying disincentives to infrastructure investment, including through technical assistance and policy advice on regulatory provisions, planning and evaluation. Better infrastructure will require a multifaceted approach including more efficient and timely use of government resources; better project selection and preparation; and productive partnerships between the public and private sector.
The current infrastructure program provides support to a range of sectors including energy; transport; water and sanitation; and the urban services sector. Technical assistance to improve infrastructure policy, planning and delivery is being delivered through a mix of programs such as partnerships with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and direct bilateral programs through Kemitraan Indonesia Australia untuk Infrastruktur (KIAT).
About the Position
Under general direction, the Program Manager (Infrastructure) will work within the Infrastructure Unit to oversee the day-to-day management of existing and planned infrastructure activities. Activities under direct management may include technical assistance and grant programs implemented through Kemitraan Indonesia Australia untuk Infrastruktur (KIAT), and assistance delivered through the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other partners.
