3 Year contract (renewable)
Single and family contracts available.
Generous Tax free basic salary. Offered according to experience. Basic salary range from: 4400 QAR up to 7935 QAR per month. Salaries are paid in QAR. Depending on currency rates 7935 QAR is /- 146 000 INR / 40 000 SDG / 252 000 PKR / 27 400 South-African Rand / 114 000 PHP / 5500 TND / 20400 MAD / 254 000 DZD / 850 OMR / 545 000 YER.
Free fully furnished accommodation provided.
Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.
Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).
40 days paid annual vacation days.
End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Orthoptics is the clinical science of ocular motility and related disorders of the eyes. An individual trained as an orthoptist is a specialized medical assistant working under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. Orthoptists form part of the eye care team and generally work closely together with ophthalmologists, optometrists and vision scientists.
The services provided by the orthoptist are:
1. Investigate, diagnose and treat defects of binocular vision and abnormalities of eye movement. The work involves seeing patients of all ages from infants to the elderly.
2. Use visual acuity tests, eye movement tests and visual field testing to diagnose amblyopia, or lazy eye syndrome, strabismus, or squint, and problems with ocular motility.
3. Teach patients eye exercises to help correct vision.
4. Work together with an ophthalmologist or surgeon to assess treatment options.
5. Involved in vision rehabilitation after operations, teaching patients who have had eye muscle adjustment to control eye alignment.
6. Involved in teaching and research activities related to the Orthoptic field.
7. Training of new Orthoptists and Ophthalmology Residents.
8. Assist the ophthalmologist with other professional tasks such as visual field and glaucoma testing.
9. Perform vision screening of children in schools and community health centers.
10. Perform other duties as assign.
