Position Description
Background: Quartz is an integrated front-to-back position management, pricing, risk management and sales/trading system for all financial instruments across all GMRT business lines. Quartz is the strategic technology platform for all development in GMRT.
The role is for a position within FICC - CPM UMR IA technology, to develop software within the Quartz platform for meeting several regulatory requirements such as UMR T+1. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality software on timescales in an intellectually challenging environment. The successful candidate will be required to become proficient in the tools and methods of the team in a short space of time and will be expected to make an ongoing contribution to improving the design, performance and auditable quality of the overall solution.
The successful candidate will work closely with the business and other stakeholders and needs to be hands-on and be able to perform within a busy and pressurized environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing software in Python and associated technologies using the Quartz platform.
- Participating fully in the development process through the entire software lifecycle.
- Responsible for providing specific, measurable and accurate estimates on short timescales in an intellectually challenging environment.
- Work as part of a global development team, to ensure that global tools and technologies are leveraged.
- Handle BAU requests involving maintenance of existing software solutions
- Work closely with the business users for all new requirements and any issues
Key Requirements
- Expertise in Python implementing large scale solutions
- Good experience in designing solutions for complex requirements
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in SQL and NoSQL products
- Experience in Big Data technologies is desirable
- Experience in HTML5, JavaScript, React, AngularJS is desirable
- Basic understanding of derivatives market and products in Fixed Income
- 2 years of experience working in Agile product development
