Our client, Malta's most reliable fire and safety alarm provider, is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to execute projects in a timely, safe, within budget and in accordance to contract specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed, as well as coordinate all relevant inputs, such as people, plant and processes, to ensure correct outputs.
You will also need to provide overall direction to project teams in technical, commercial and operational matters, whilst assisting in general direction to various support departments. Planning all aspects of projects from inception to post completion including costing, design installation, commissioning and handing over, together with reviewing work load schedules and communication with the Department Manager when issues are envisaged will also form part of your duties.
The job itself varies between office work and site coordination and therefore involves preparation of monthly reports, as well as coordination with all stakeholders including clients, suppliers, contractors and managers. Whilst monitoring projects progress against deadline targets and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirement, the chosen candidate will also need to create new project opportunities within and outside the contract scope. You will also be responsible for designing systems, identifying and work to remove barriers to successfully complete the overall project.
The chosen candidate will hold an Engineering warrant with 3 years’ experience in contracting and a valid driving licence. Experience on fire supression systems would be an asset.
