3 Year contract (renewable).
Single contract for unmarried candidates, while Family contract offered for married candidates.
Tax free Basic monthly salary offered according to experience. The Basic Monthly Salary range from 17600 up to 32535 QR per month.
Depending on currency rates 32535 QR is /- 11200 CAD / 7230 EUR / 8930 USD / 4620 GBP / 106000 ZAR / 573000 INR / 21300 TND / 33000 AUD
NOTE: Salary paid in Qatari Riyals (QR). Mentioned above is ONLY the Basic Salary and NOT the total monthly salary amount. Additional/on top of the basic salary the following allowances and benefits forms part of the total monthly salary package.
Market allowance of up to 50% of the basic salary may be offered. (Depending on criticality of the skill).
Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.
School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) PER child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.
End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.
Free fully furnished accommodation provided OR housing allowance (choice of applicant).
Free "round trip" (to and from home country) economy class flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).

Job Specification
Role: Nocturnist role is to help improve the quality and safety of care of adult medical inpatients at night. Nocturnist will do this through on-site Consultant-delivered direct care and direct/indirect supervision of trainees between the hours of 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Supervisor: Head of Hospital Medicine/GIM Division Chief/ Department of Medicine Chair.
Responsibilities:
1. The Nocturnist is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and maintaining the clinical services provided within the department at night in order to achieve the highest possible level of patient care with optimum utilization of the available resources.
2. Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of the program and Corporation.
3. Nocturnist will provide total 26 weeks of night coverage annually.
4. All leaves are to be taken in remaining 26 weeks.
5. Reports for duty at 9 PM in the AMAU MDT room on 6 North HGH. On arrival meets face-to-face for handover from Medicine Consultants/Coordinator on preceding evening shift and meets with the Trainees who are working overnight to coordinate delivery of care by them as a team (9 - 10 p.m.). At the end of shift Nocturnists will handover relevant issues to appropriate Medicine Consultants/Coordinator/other providers in the AMAU MDT room on 6 North HGH and complete all administrative duties (7 - 8 a.m.).
6. Duties include
a. Triaging patients from the ED for admission or discharge or referrals to other services, evaluating and staffing all new admissions to AMAU, evaluating inpatients, supporting Code Blue/RRT as needed, Procedures as indicated and other clinical support as needed.
b. Providing Medical Consultations.
c. Direct and Indirect supervision and support of Department of Medicine trainees.
d. Coordinating Flow of inpatients with the Coordinator and Bed Management.
e. Resolution of clinical and administrative issues that may arise overnight.
f. Maintaining work log to quantify workload.
g. Documentation of above in medical record as per JCI, and program standards.
h. Collection of quality data and participation quality improvement as indicated.
i. Participates in the various committees as assigned.
j. Participates in the planning and delivery of education and research activities.
k. Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the supervisor.
l. Total working hours are approximately 2000 hours annually. This includes weekends, holidays and 10% time for Continuing Professional Development and administrative activities.
m. Salary for above clinical, academic, administrative and quality improvement work is based on experience and qualifications. There is no additional overtime compensation as a Special Allowance is already provided for this purpose.
n. Mandatory requirement for acquiring and maintaining QCHP medical license.
o. Mandatory to complete and maintain clinical privileges.
p. Mandatory to comply with Revalidation guidelines and standards.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Consultant is a senior doctor who practices in a specific specialty and has oversight responsibility for his team of junior doctors and manages other team members. The Consultant should be able to take a comprehensive view of the care pathway. The Consultant accepts ultimate responsibility for the care of all patients admitted under his name. The Consultant is capable of independently providing high quality patient care (diagnose, treat, manage and admit patients under his name) as delineated by his clinical privileges.
Ability to relate well to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired objectives, recognizing the need to represent both the clinical work and the team. The Consultant actively contributes to the teaching and training of students and junior doctors, and to the development of his specialty through leadership, academe and research.
Research is a key and integral component to the Corporation€™s Strategic aim to become an Academic Health System. The post holder must be able to contribute on delivering an integrated strategic vision and planning for Clinical, Research, Education and training which improves the quality of patient care.
