Why does the job exist?
This position directly manages all activities for one or more boards.
How does it get done?
The Board Administrator position provides administrative, licensing, fiscal, disciplinary oversight and direction to assure efficient board operations for multiple boards. This position is responsible for ensuring all legal notices for board meetings and rule hearings are published, prepares agendas and minutes. This position is responsible for all functions of each board they are assigned.
Who are the customers?
Our customers are individuals applying for a professional license in any of the 31 professions we license. The customers include professionals, applicants, insurance and credentialing companies and members of the public who are dependent on the services the licensed individuals provide.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi task and have the ability to switch tasks frequently with many interruptions;
- have experience working in a high volume environment; handle difficult people or situations with diplomacy to achieve results tactfully, professionally and successfully.
- be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- be experienced in reading, understanding and applying statutes and rules;
- have the ability to disseminate accurate information to others; identify issues and problem solve; and be able to work independently.
Minimum Qualification
Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
